John Musgrave | Pastor
John Musgrave is the pastor of our church, and has been here as pastor from the time of the church’s founding in 1999. He loves it here—especially the people—and is grateful to God for them. John loves to teach and instruct from the Bible, and believes that understanding the Bible better is exciting (because it means we know God better). He’s the father of five daughters, grew up in New York and Ohio, played sports growing up (and runs now), and served in campus ministry with CRU at Wittenberg University, Wilmington University, and Indiana University. John has a B.A. from Wittenberg University (Ohio), an M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary (Orlando), and teaches seminary classes in Bible, Theology, and Biblical Interpretation at LAMP seminary in Raleigh (NC). John loves his family, loves having five daughters, loves to run, and loves to laugh.
BOB ERICKSON | Elder
Bob Erickson is an elder in our church. He and his wife, Julie, are originally from Illinois. They met in the eighth grade and were married in 1979. Bob joined the Army in 1975 and spent four years on active duty. After the service, Bob went to work for a laundry equipment distributor, and has worked as a parts manager, service manager, and currently as sales manager. Bob and Julie moved to North Carolina in 1993, and became members of Christ Church in 1999. Bob began service as a deacon in the church in 2002, and since 2014 has served as an elder. They have three adult children, four granddaughters, and one great-grandson. They enjoy spending time with all of them. Bob is an avid baseball fan, and his favorite team is the Chicago Cubs.
JIM SMITH | Elder
JIM WEST | Elder
Jim West is an elder in our church. Jim and his wife, Christina, joined Christ Church in the Spring of 2013. Jim served as a deacon from 2015 until 2022, when he was ordained as an elder. Originally from Indiana, Jim now resides in Clayton, and has worked for Cummins, Inc. since 1996. Jim and Christina have two sons, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. They love Christ Church, spending time with family and friends, time at the beach, and grilling out/cooking.
